The Lebanese Ministry of Health registers seven fatalities in Nabatiye and five in the Southern governorate

MADRID, 22 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Lebanese authorities reported this Thursday afternoon that the death toll from the latest attacks carried out by the Israeli Army on Baalbek, located in the east of the country, has increased to 40 dead and 52 wounded.

The Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health has broken down the data on its social networks, pointing to the towns of Barha and Falawi as the most affected, with eleven and ten fatalities respectively.

Likewise, six people have died in Maqná, five in Yunine, three in Al Zahra. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have also bombed the municipalities of Brital and Amashki, where two people each died, and in Al Rafaqa, where one person died. Dozens of injuries have also been recorded in these and other towns in the region.

The Ministry has also announced that at least seven people have been killed and 24 injured in attacks by Israeli troops in the Nabatiye governorate. Casualties have been reported in up to ten towns, with Arabsalim – with four dead and nine injured – being the most affected.

In addition, the Israeli Army has also attacked the Southern Governorate, where at least five people have died and 26 have been injured in a total of nine municipalities.

The Israeli Army unleashed a new invasion of Lebanon on October 1 after several weeks of intense bombings and attacks against the country, including the coordinated explosion of thousands of ‘pagers’ and ‘walkie-talkies’ linked to Hezbollah, after more than eleven months of fighting with Hezbollah in the border area. Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, recently acknowledged his responsibility for these attacks.

The Lebanese health authorities have detailed that the toll of victims since October 8, 2023 has now risen to 3,583 dead and 15,244 injured.

The resurgence in hostilities is part of the clashes that began more than a year ago, after Hezbollah attacked Israeli territory a day after the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, which led Israel to unleash a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip, where 44,000 people have already died.
