MADRID 28 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Nearly a hundred fishermen from the El Ñuro cove have been on the high seas since Friday without being able to reach land due to the waves that hit the northern coast of Peru and have forced the ports in the area to close.
Those affected have tried to return to shore, but the poor sea conditions do not allow it, according to the Peruvian newspaper ‘El Comercio’.
A group of fishermen entered the sea on Saturday morning to secure their boats and try to rescue their trapped companions, who have not eaten food in recent hours.
That is why relatives of the fishermen ask to bring them assistance by air, both in the form of food and for a possible air rescue because they fear that conditions will worsen soon.
On Saturday, around thirty artisanal fishermen who had not been able to return since Friday managed to return to land thanks to the intervention of the Peruvian Navy.
