At least 111 Gazans die, 72 of them in the north, due to attacks by the Israeli Army in the Strip

MADRID 18 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least 111 people, including women and children, have died as a result of the continuous attacks carried out by the Israeli Army this Sunday in several areas of the Gaza Strip, especially in the north of the enclave.

Local sources have told the Palestinian news agency WAFA that the most intense bombings have taken place in the center and north of the Strip, with a total of ten “violent” raids in which the Army has used “tons” of explosives. against residential buildings, schools and shelters for displaced people.

Thus, 72 of the total of 111 fatalities have died in the Al Shati refugee camp in Gaza City and in Beit Lahia, in the north of the Strip.

Attacks have also been reported in the east of Deir Al Balá, the refugee camp located in the center of the Palestinian enclave, where at least two people have been killed and an unknown number have been injured.

On the other hand, in the west of the southern town of Rafá, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have blown up several residential buildings, causing injuries although the authorities have not confirmed any fatalities.

Previously, four civilians were killed in the Qizan al Najjar neighborhood in southern Khan Younis, while two were killed in western Gaza and two in the Tel Al Hawa neighborhood of the aforementioned town.

The Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip have already left almost 43,850 dead and more than 103,700 injured, according to the latest balance provided this Sunday morning by the authorities of the Palestinian enclave, under the control of the Islamist movement Hamas.

As usual, the Ministry reminds that these figures are only an approximation because a number of victims that cannot be determined are buried under tons of rubble caused by the bombings. In addition, Gazan authorities have stated on several occasions that at least 10,000 people are listed as missing.

The Israeli offensive against Gaza was launched after the attacks of October 7, 2023, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped, according to Israeli authorities. Added to these tolls are more than 760 Palestinians killed at the hands of Israeli security forces and in attacks perpetrated by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
