At least six people have died and seven more have been injured in an explosion in a house in Mandi Bahaudin, in the Pakistani province of Punjab.
Among the deceased are a man, three women and two girls whose bodies have been taken to a hospital, according to the police report, published by the Pakistani newspaper ‘Dawn’.
The six deceased died instantly after the roof of the home fell and they were left under the rubble. The origin appears to be a short circuit that occurred when two people were preparing fireworks on the first floor, explained the district’s emergency manager, Imran Jan.
A police spokesman, Mohammad Akram Hanjan, explained that an investigation has been opened to clarify the causes of the incident.
