At least three Pakistani soldiers and 19 suspected terrorists have been killed in Pakistan Army operations carried out in Khyber Pashthuwa province, a former stronghold of the Pakistani Taliban, near the border with Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s Army Information Office (ISPR) has explained that these are three operations that took place between Monday and Tuesday, and has identified the deceased soldiers as Lance Havaldar Abbas Ali, 38; Naik Muhamad Nazir and Naik Mujamad Usman, both 37.

The ISPR has indicated that eight of the alleged terrorists were killed in an Intelligence operation in the Matani area of ​​Peshawar district; another eight in Baizai, Mohmand district, and the last three in Karak district. He has also indicated that they are carrying out “cleaning efforts to eliminate” any other terrorists in the area.

Pakistani security forces have carried out dozens of operations in recent months against the group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), known as the Pakistani Taliban and responsible for dozens of attacks against security forces since the ceasefire was broken. the fire in November 2022.
