Court denies Israeli police access to anti-Netanyahu protesters’ cell phones

MADRID 29 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

A Jerusalem court has rejected a request by the Israeli Police to tap the mobile phones of several detainees on Saturday night during a protest in front of the residence of the country’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Five protesters were arrested during this rally in Jerusalem to demand the resignation of Netanyahu, who is currently involved in a parallel corruption investigation.

In addition, they accuse him of inability to achieve the return of dozens of hostages held by Palestinian militias for more than a year in Gaza.

Although the detainees were released, the Police insisted on keeping their phones, in a request rejected by the court, reports the ‘Times of Israel’, because it understands that the crime for which they were detained, disturbing public order, was not is of sufficient severity.
