Barcelona dropped some crucial points in the Laliga today, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Granada in their Laliga match today.
Luuk De Jong scored first in the second half to give Barcelona the lead, but Granada scored a late equalizing goal that earned them a point against Barcelona.
The game saw Barcelona dominate the ball possession, but Granada made more goal attempts. It was a rough match as 9 players from both sides were booked by the referee, and which ended up with Barcelona's Gavi receiving a red card.
This 1-1 draw means that Barcelona has now dropped some crucial points in the their race to at least secure a top 4 place on the table.
On the other side of Spain, Real Madrid hosted Valencia, and Real Madrid made sure to trash them 4-1, as they recovered from their loss against Getafe last weekend.
Karim Benzema scored from the penalty spot to make sure Real Madrid took the lead in the first. Then in the second half, Vinicius Jr scored 2 goals, thereby taking the game out of the reach of the visiting Valencia team. Valencia managed to pull one back some moments later, before Benzema scored again in the closing minutes to finish off the game for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid asserted their dominance in this game, as they dominated the ball possession, and also backed it up with a quality win.
The 4-1 win means that Real Madrid has extended their lead on top of the Laliga Table by a further 8 points.
