Death toll from Israel’s military offensive against the Gaza Strip rises to more than 44,300

The authorities of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), have this Thursday raised the number of Palestinians killed to more than 44,300 due to the offensive unleashed by the Israeli Army against the enclave after the attacks carried out on the 7th. October 2023 by the Islamist group and other Palestinian factions.

“The toll of Israeli aggression has increased to 44,330 martyrs and 104,933 wounded since October 7, 2023,” said the Gaza Ministry of Health through a statement published on its Telegram account, where it denounced that Israeli troops They have committed “three massacres” during the last day that left at least 48 dead and 53 injured.

However, he noted that “there are still victims among the rubble and lying in the streets, without ambulances and Civil Defense teams being able to reach them.” Gaza authorities have repeatedly claimed that at least 10,000 people are listed as missing.

The Israeli Army has intensified its attacks on several points in the Gaza Strip since Wednesday, shortly after the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon came into force, nearly two months after the start of a new invasion of the country and after more than thirteen months of clashes with the Shiite militia party Hezbollah.

Israel launched its offensive against Gaza after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by Hamas and other Palestinian factions, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped. Additionally, around 790 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and in settler attacks since then in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
