Edmundo González denounces “the violation of Human Rights” of the latest detainees by Maduro

González’s daughter still does not know her husband’s whereabouts 48 hours after he was intercepted by “hooded men”

MADRID, 9 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Venezuelan opposition candidate Edmundo González denounced this Thursday “the violation of Human Rights” by the Nicolás Maduro regime against the dozens of detainees in recent days, among whom is the veteran dissident’s own son-in-law, Rafael Tudares.

“The forced disappearance of my son-in-law, Rafael Tudares, continues. There is no information about his location or physical condition. I strongly condemn the violation of Human Rights, both of Rafael and of those who have disappeared in recent days,” he stated. González on his social media profile.

The prominent opponent, who is in the Dominican Republic but intends to take office as President of Venezuela this Friday, has alluded to a publication also on social networks by his daughter Mariana González, wife of Tudares, in which she denounced that his Husband has been missing for 48 hours now.

“My husband (…) is still in a situation of kidnapping by security agents and Intelligence officers of the Venezuelan State, a fact that occurred on Tuesday (…) without us having been given any information about his whereabouts, nor about the detention and confinement center in which he is located,” denounced Mariana González.

Thus, González’s daughter has categorically rejected the accusations made by the Venezuelan Government against her husband, to whom they attribute criminal acts, and has defended that “he has not participated in any way with the events that are intended to be attributed to him and, in general has not incurred in any situation that could have a criminal character or crime”.

Tudares’ arrest joins a long list of people detained by the Maduro regime, including former presidential candidate Enrique Márquez and several dozen other alleged foreign “mercenaries,” including an alleged member of the FBI and a U.S. military officer. .

Venezuela held presidential elections at the end of July and in which the ruling party claimed victory by just one percent of the votes, although the opposition denounced fraud in the recount of the minutes and assures that González is really the one who won the elections. In this context, both aspire to take possession of the Venezuelan Presidency this Friday.
