MADRID, 3 (EUROPA PRESS)
The Venezuelan opponent Edmundo González will travel this Saturday to Montevideo, capital of Uruguay, where he will be received by the local president, Luis Lacalle Pou, after visiting the Argentine president, Javier Milei, in Buenos Aires that same day.
González, for whom the Venezuelan authorities have offered in recent hours a reward of $100,000 for information that may help in his arrest, will also be received by Lacalle Pou at the presidential residence in Montevideo.
This was confirmed by González’s campaign team in a brief statement in which they encouraged the Venezuelan community in Uruguay to gather outside the place. “Second stop. See you in Uruguay!” González said on his social networks.
Before, his tour of Latin America will take him to Casa Rosada, where he will meet Milei this Saturday morning. Relations between the current governments of Argentina and Venezuela are not going through their best moment.
Added to the verbal clashes between Milei and his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, is the recent arrest of Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo, whom Caracas accuses of crimes related to terrorism. Argentina has already issued a complaint to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for “arbitrary detention.”
