MADRID 29 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) – –

The commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Hosein Salami, stated this Thursday that the ceasefire reached in Lebanon could be “the beginning” of a similar agreement in the Gaza Strip, subject to a military offensive by Israel following the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian groups.

Salami has sent a letter to the general secretary of the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah, Naim Qasem, in which he praised the “great victory” obtained by the group against the “Zionist regime” and “its diabolical plans” in Lebanon, before emphasizing that the ceasefire has been “imposed” on Israel due to Hezbollah’s performance in the clashes.

Thus, he stressed that it is “a great event in the history of the fight against Zionism” and added that it is a “strategic and humiliating failure” for Israel that “could mark the beginning of a ceasefire and the end of the war in Gaza,” according to the letter, published by Sepah News, the media branch of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
