Though people change and eventually grow apart but that doesn’t mean that you have to forget the good time you spent together. This ex-couple named Shaun Nyland and Cat Keenan are the best example we have, though they parted their ways but are still on really good terms.

The couple stayed together for around 8 years and used to create content on Facebook

Shaun Nyland and Cat Keenan started dating in November of 2013 and even used to create content together. For some reason, they decided to go their separate ways but they also share 2 beautiful boys. The ex-couple made sure to be there for their kids and give importance to the family first.

Recently, Shaun Nyland gave a huge surprise which is proof that how much he still respects his ex-girlfriend. To share their positivity, Brightside decided to take their interview so that we all can take a little inspiration.

Not all couples end on bad terms

After being asked why they split up, Shaun said; “We never ended on bad terms. The reason we broke up was because our relationship was becoming more of a friendship than of lovers. We spent 24 hours a day together, working together on social media.”

They want their kids to be around happy parents

They came on same page and decided to break up. When asked to Cat about their kids, she said;

“We have a child together so we both feel it’s important for him to be around 2 happy parents that can communicate and get on well.”

They think it’s absolutely important for their kids to see their parents having a healthy relationship. Though they are not lovers anymore but they still consider each other family. That’s one of the reason Shaun decided to surprise Cat by paying off her mortgage. He did this so that Cat could take care of the kids without worrying about providing for them, including paying the mortgage.

“I’m so proud of you, you’re the best mom ever, so I did something…”

Cat explained; “I had no idea, it was a complete surprise, and still shocks me now.”

It looks like we have a lot to learn from these ex-lovers

The couple thinks it’s important to part ways and explore your own journey as this helps you in evolving in life.

“Tips for anyone going through a tough time would be: give it time; Shaun and I spent 3 1/2 months apart. We needed this time and space to work on ourselves,” Cat told Brightside.

We wish them the best for their future, they truly are an inspiration to many.
