Israel announces the death of an Islamic Jihad commander in a bombing against Gaza

The Israeli Army claims to have killed several Hamas members involved in the attacks of October 7, 2023

MADRID, 22 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Army announced this Friday the death of an Islamic Jihad commander in a bombing carried out against the Gaza Strip, as well as that of several “terrorists” allegedly involved in the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Movement of Islamic Resistance (Hamas) and other Palestinian groups.

Thus, he indicated in a statement that Khaled abu Daqa, whom he identifies as “commander of the Islamic Jihad rocket unit”, died on Wednesday in an attack against a “humanitarian zone” in the center of the Gaza Strip, without more details about others killed in the attack.

“Abu Daqa was a significant actor who carried out many terrorist attacks, managed and led the terrorist organization’s operations to harm citizens of the State of Israel and soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF),” he said.

In this sense, he has stressed that the suspects “led the firing of rockets against the towns around Gaza” both on October 7, 2023 and on subsequent dates, while defending that he adopted “many measures” to “reduce the possibilities” of killing civilians during the bombing, without further details.

On the other hand, he has stated that several Hamas “terrorists” who participated in the October 7 attacks, including members of the Nujba Force, an elite unit of the group, were killed in another recent bombing against the northern Strip.

In this way, he has specified that among the deceased are Jihad Mahmud Yahya Kahlut, “company commander of the Nujba Force”, and Muhammad Riad Ali Ukal, “company commander of Hamas”. Both would have been involved in the attacks against Mefalsim during the aforementioned assaults.

“Other terrorists from the Eastern Jabalia Battalion died in the attack,” he stressed, while saying that among them were Anas Jalal Muhamad Abu Shakian, another “Hamas commander” who also participated in said attacks, and Nurredín Muhamad Yahya Abu Jadian, “member of the Nujba Force.”
