Israel launches new bombing in southern Lebanon over alleged Hezbollah activity

MADRID 29 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Friday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a new bombing raid on southern Lebanon against alleged targets of the Shiite group Hezbollah, which they have accused on several occasions of violating the ceasefire that came into force this week.

The Israeli Army has reported on social networks of an air attack after detecting “terrorist activity” and a mobile rocket launcher, a “threat” to which it considers that they were obliged to respond. The IDF maintains that Hezbollah continues to violate commitments, an accusation that the Lebanese Army has also leveled against the Israeli Army in recent days.

The head of the Northern Command of the IDF, Ori Gordin, warned this Friday that they will “aggressively” apply the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and that, therefore, they “will not allow” Hezbollah to return to areas located south of the Litani River, in line with resolution 1701 of the United Nations Security Council.
