Israel shoots down a drone launched “from the east” after entering its territory

MADRID 26 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Army claimed this Tuesday to have intercepted a drone launched “from the east”, in apparent reference to Iraq, in the midst of attacks by pro-Iranian militias since the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East following the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions.

Thus, it has indicated in a statement that the demolition has taken place after alerts went off in the Golan Heights – taken from Syria during the Six-Day War and effectively annexed in 1981, a movement not recognized internationally – -, before adding that the device would have entered Israeli territory.

At the moment there has been no claim of responsibility for the attack, although in the past the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, a coalition of pro-Iranian militias in Iraq, has claimed dozens of drone and missile attacks against targets in Israeli territory.
