“It is close to the caste” and “it has no interference in the Government”

MADRID 21 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, revealed this Wednesday the disagreements with his ‘number two’, Victoria Villarruel, whom he accused of being “close to caste”, and has assured that he has “no type of interference” in government decisions.

“In her vision… Many things that we do… she is closer to the red circle and high politics, to what we call the caste,” the president declared during an interview on the La Nación+ network.

Milei spoke these words when asked about the apparent distance with his running mate, something he confirmed by announcing that he has limited his communication with her to “what is institutionally needed to fulfill (their) roles.”

In this sense, according to the president, Villarruel “does not have any type of interference in decision-making.” “He does not participate in cabinet meetings. He decided not to participate, a long time ago, let’s say, he decided not to participate in the meetings,” he said.

Milei, who has not reported an imminent dismissal of the vice president, has however recalled how he fired the former Foreign Minister Diana Mondino and the former Chief of Staff, Nicolás Posse.

“Everyone knows that they are not allowed a millimeter of error,” he said, highlighting how it took him “30 minutes to fire” Mondino after his vote in favor of lifting the United States embargo on Cuba.
