Nothing cools down situations like comedy does, even when the world is coming to an end. In order to create the most believable quarreling, it turns out Jonah Hill spent quite a significant amount of time word crafting the funniest insults to Jennifer Lawrence at the ‘Don’t Look Up’ set.
The new comedic hit shows off a star-studded cast from Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothee Chalamet, Meryl Streep, and Chris Evans. Not counting cameo appearances from Ariana Grande and other celebrities.
Jennifer Lawrence plays Kate Dibiasky, the student of Dr. Randall Mindy, played by DiCaprio.
She and co-star Jonah Hill have remained as the most talked-about characters thanks to their hilarious bantering and comedic moments. The 31-year-old star spoke in an interview with Vanity Fair about who Jonah Hill is.
“Jonah’s character is the President’s son, but also the Chief-of-Staff, which some might think is nepotism.”
“He is the worst. It was really, really hard filming with Jonah, and just not ruining take after take, laughing.”
“We one time dedicated an entire day to him just improv-ing insults at me. It was amazing. He and Meryl are the only ones who really should do that kind of improv. I mean, he’s just a comedic master. We all did some stuff. Just not as well as Jonah,” she continued commenting about the 38-year-old comedian.
She shares her thoughts on the movie, “I guess the biggest thing I would want people to take away from it is for us to stop handling information the way that we do now.”
“Don’t Look Up” has started streaming on Netflix. What’s a better way to handle the world’s end than comedy, right?
