The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, has called on the Army to “concentrate all efforts” on finalizing “preparations for war” in the face of the rise in tensions on the Korean peninsula, while once again defending the need to strengthen Pyongyang’s nuclear capabilities “without limits.”
Kim has maintained during a conference with battalion commanders and political instructors of the North Korean Army that the actions of Washington, Seoul and “other hostile forces” have caused the Korean peninsula to become “the hottest spot in the world,” according to the North Korean state news agency KCNA.
For this reason, he has told the country’s Armed Forces that they must “concentrate all efforts on finalizing preparations for war, in line with the requirements of the revolution and the current situation,” before insisting on the importance of “accelerating the political and military firmness, as well as combat efficiency.”
Kim has stated that the objective is for “the regular forces and the rest of the North Korean Armed Forces to be able to face a war” and has insisted that all battalions “must prepare to be able to act immediately” once receive orders to achieve “an honorable victory.”
“Let me emphasize again that the most important and vital task for our Armed Forces is war and preparations for war. That is the original mission and duty of the revolutionary armed forces,” he maintained during his speech, in which has called for “a correct understanding of the situation.”
In this sense, he explained that “the trilateral military bloc made up of the United States, Japan and South Korea, which is a major factor in the threat to peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, including the Korean Peninsula , is more clearly revealing its threatening nature.”
The North Korean leader has accused the United States of trying to “transform” its alliance with South Korea into “a fully nuclear alliance” and of deploying strategic military equipment in the country while carrying out “various types of training” with its allies, “including NATO member states.”
“The military alliance led by the United States is increasing its reach,” argued Kim, who stressed that “in case of emergency, it would not be strange for the United States and its armies to appear on the Korean peninsula under the flag of a military alliance.” like NATO, rather than under the United Nations.
“The Americans and South Koreans are taking actions that will have very dangerous consequences,” he said, while emphasizing that Washington, Seoul and Tokyo “will not be able to escape responsibility for the serious crimes that destroy peace and stability.” on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.
For this reason, he has reiterated his commitment to strengthening North Korea’s nuclear capabilities, which he has described as “an irreversible policy.” “We will continue to strengthen our national self-defense capabilities, focused on nuclear weapons, without limits, without complacency and without rest,” said Kim, who elaborated that “every day is a precious time to accelerate preparations for a war.” “.
RISK OF A THIRD WORLD WAR
In another vein, Kim has stated that the United States and other Western countries launched a war against Russia “using Ukraine as shock troops” and has warned of the risk of a third world war breaking out due to Washington’s actions at various points. of the world.
“American war mongers continue to militarily support Ukraine and Israel, prolonging the war, drawing more countries into it. The international security situation is increasingly dangerous, raising concerns that a war could break out. third world war,” he argued, without commenting on the accusations against Pyongyang for allegedly sending troops to Russia.
“The risk of war lurks everywhere and no one can predict when and where it will break out. As the world watches the use of force in Europe and the Middle East, it recognizes that the Korean Peninsula is the region where there is the greatest possibility discharge from an armed conflict,” he concluded.
Tensions have been rising on the Korean Peninsula for months, marked by North Korea sending hundreds of trash balloons across the border. In June, Seoul also resumed propaganda broadcasts through loudspeakers on the border for the first time in six years, as well as its live-fire maneuvers near the demarcation line, activities to which are added joint military maneuvers with the United States.
North Korean authorities have also been increasing their launches of ballistic missiles and other projectiles in recent years, operations they describe as “warnings” against the actions of Seoul, with whom they have not yet signed a peace agreement despite the fact that the War of Korea (1950-1953) ended with an armistice, so both countries are still technically at war.
