According to a statement published by the North Korean news agency KCNA, Kim met with Kozlov at the headquarters building of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, where he “valued the fact that bilateral solidarity and cooperation are have narrowed and deepened in different areas since the conclusion of a new treaty between the two countries.
Kim has maintained that it is “necessary to reciprocally and powerfully push forward the mutual prosperity and development of the two countries by further promoting intergovernmental trade, economic, scientific and technological exchange and cooperation in a broader and more diversified manner, as that friendly relations” with the Government of Vladimir Putin “have reached a new strategic level.
Last week, the North Korean authorities ratified a mutual defense agreement with Russia that establishes that, in the event of a threat or act of aggression against one of the parties, the other may convene consultations to coordinate its position and agree on mutual defense measures. .
