Machado assures that Edmundo González will come to take office in Venezuela when the conditions are met

MADRID 10 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Venezuelan dissident leader María Corina Machado assured this Friday that the opposition candidate in the last presidential elections, Emdundo González, will travel to Venezuela to take office “at the right time when the conditions are appropriate.”

This was stated in a video shared on his official profile on social networks in which he assured that he has been in contact with González in recent days while the veteran opponent was carrying out a tour throughout the American continent and whose last stop was been Dominican Republic.

Venezuela held presidential elections at the end of July in which the ruling party awarded victory to President Nicolás Maduro, although the opposition denounced fraud in the vote count and claimed victory for González, supported by part of the international community.

Although González had assured that he would travel to Venezuela this Friday to take office, in the end this was not the case. Maduro, for his part, who had also assured that he would be sworn in as president of the country, received the presidential sash in an event in the National Assembly surrounded by authorities and representatives from more than a hundred countries.
