MADRID 9 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado reappeared this Thursday in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, during a demonstration in support of the victory of Edmundo González in the presidential elections last July.

Machado had been chosen as an opposition candidate for the elections, but was disqualified by Justice before the elections and replaced by González. Shortly after the elections he claimed to be “in hiding” and said he feared for his life.

The opposition maintains that it was González who won the July presidential elections, after Chavismo declared the current Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, the winner, without presenting the minutes that would prove this supposed victory.

Both the Venezuelan president and the veteran opponent, who has been touring the American continent these days, aspire to take possession of the Venezuelan Presidency this Friday.
