MADRID 2 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, has ordered his Government to present a report to Justice to remove the security device that accompanies the ex-partner of former Argentine president Alberto Fernández, Fabiola Yáñez, who currently resides in Spain.
Milei has entrusted the procedures to her Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, who has quickly stepped forward to make herself available to the president and make a report “immediately” and submit it to Justice, according to two publications on her social networks.
For the president, the fact that Yáñez continues to enjoy security at the expense of the State is “nonsense.” “I’m sure that Justice will evaluate this request positively,” said Milei, who took the opportunity to attack the legacy of his predecessor in the Casa Rosada.
“Citizens’ taxes are to improve the lives of the population. Not for the privileges of those who did not carry out the investiture with austerity,” he added. A photograph of Yáñez during a dinner in Madrid was recently released and sparked criticism about the cost of his security.
The former first lady’s security service is in charge of the Federal Police and involves a cost per agent of at least $18,000 per month. This value is for accommodation, meals and other expenses paid by the Argentine State, according to information from the newspaper ‘Clarín’.
After the dissemination of the aforementioned images, a representative from La Libertad Avanza, Milei’s party, has proposed before the Lower House to limit security protection so that it only applies in Argentine territory, and not abroad, as is the case of Yanez.
“Regarding the case of Fabiola Yáñez and the benefit of being guarded with the pocketbooks of all Argentines in Spain while she had a love date, I decided to present a bill to eliminate custody abroad of former presidents,” explained deputy Marcela. Pagan.
