Russian Government spokesperson receives a call not to talk about the intercontinental missile attack against Ukraine

MADRID 21 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zajarova, received a phone call this Thursday during a press conference to prevent her from talking about the attack with an intercontinental ballistic missile perpetrated hours before by Russian forces against the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, located in the east of the country.

The phone call took place while the spokesperson was addressing the media, so the conversation was recorded through the microphones present in the room, including that of Zajarova herself.

On the other end of the line, an unidentified person has prohibited the spokesperson from making any reference to the attack: “We do not comment on the ballistic missile attack against Yuzhmash, which the Western media is already talking about.”

The conversation, which lasted a few seconds, took place during the round of questions, almost at the end of the press conference, according to information collected by the Russian news portal Meduza. The information obtained thanks to this brief conversation suggests that the attack targeted the Ukrainian Yuzhmash factory, also known by the name Pivdenmash and where rockets and other types of weapons are manufactured.

Zajarova has indicated that it was a call from “experts” in response to a query made by herself before the start of the press conference after observing “contradictory materials on the matter on the Internet.” “I asked if we were addressing this. I got the answer during the briefing. The Ministry does not comment on it, so the intrigue is over,” he said in statements to the Russian news agency TASS.

The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed this morning the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Russian region of Astrakhan and seven other cruise missiles over Dnipro. According to the official balance, Ukraine’s defense systems managed to shoot down six of these latest missiles.
