The death toll from the bombing carried out on Wednesday by the Israeli Army against the Syrian city of Palmyra (center) has increased to more than 90, as reported this Friday by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, after the Government Syria put the death toll at 36, a balance that has not been updated.
The organization, based in London and informants in the Asian country, has indicated that the attack left at least 92 dead, including 61 “Syrian members of militias backed by Iran”, including eleven who worked for the Shiite militia party Hezbollah. and four members of the Lebanese group.
Likewise, it has indicated in a statement that among the dead there are also 27 people “of nationality other than Syrian”, mostly members of the Iraqi group Al Nujaba. In addition, he stressed that another 21 people were injured, including seven civilians.
The Observatory has specified that Israeli warplanes attacked three points in Palmyra, located in the province of Homs, including one where a meeting was taking place between commanders of Al Nujaba – a pro-Iran militia active in Syria and Iraq – and Hezbollah.
The Syrian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday 36 dead and 50 wounded in the bombing of the city, declared a World Heritage Site. Later, the Syrian Foreign Ministry spoke of a “horrendous crime” and regretted the inaction on the part of the international community in the face of the attacks by Israel.
