The attack, which has been concentrated in the Basta el Faouqa neighborhood, in the center of the city, where search and rescue teams continue with their emergency operations in an attempt to remove those who died from the rubble alive They have been buried.

Among the main targets of the attack is an eight-story residential building, although several adjacent buildings have also suffered damage, according to the Lebanese news agency NNA.

Both the sources of the Al Arabiya network and the Israeli public broadcaster Kan understand that the attack was directed against a senior Hezbollah official, Mohamed Haydar, a member of the so-called Jihad Council, the organization’s military leadership.

The authorities estimate that more than 3,600 people have been killed and another 15,300 have been injured in Israeli attacks during the last year, a situation that has worsened following the incursion launched by the Israeli Army on October 1.

The resurgence in hostilities is part of the clashes that began more than a year ago, after Hezbollah attacked Israeli territory following the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023, which led the Israeli Army to unleash a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip.
