The French authorities have assured this Thursday that the Coast Guard rescued more than 105 migrants during the day on Wednesday who were trying to cross the English Channel in three boats to reach United Kingdom territory.

The Maritime Prefecture of the Channel and the North Sea has indicated in a statement that a total of 107 people were rescued in the operations and subsequently transferred to the ports of Dunkirk and Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Thus, he detailed that a first operation allowed 30 people to be rescued, while 31 migrants were located on a second boat. Finally, another 26 people were rescued in another boat in the English Channel.

In this sense, he has warned “anyone planning to cross the English Channel” to be aware of the “risks.” “This maritime sector is one of the most frequented areas in the world, with more than 600 commercial vessels transiting per day in difficult weather conditions, making it a particularly dangerous sector, especially in winter for precarious and overloaded vessels,” he concluded. .
