MADRID 24 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Lebanese Army reported this Sunday that one soldier has died and 18 others have been injured, including “some seriously” as a result of an Israeli air attack against a military position in the south of the country.
The attack occurred specifically against the Al Amiriya base, on the road that links the towns of Qalila and Tire, and which has also suffered serious material damage, the Army has announced on its X social network account.
More than 40 Lebanese soldiers have already died since the Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip began in October 2023 and with the consequent immediate expansion of the conflict to Lebanon.
This bombing took place after the phone call held this past Saturday by the US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, and his Israeli counterpart, Israel Katz, and in which the North American official asked the Israeli Army to do everything possible to guarantee the security of the Lebanese military, who are not an active party against Israel in the conflict that pits Israeli forces against Hezbollah militias.
