The Mozambique Police denounces that the post-election protests are financed by civil society

MADRID 30 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Mozambique Police denounced this Friday that the post-election protests, which have already left dozens of dead, are financed by civil society organizations and individuals.

“(The demonstrations) have been supported and financed by some civil society organizations and people of bad faith, including nationals and foreigners, with the aim of creating widespread chaos and subverting the established constitutional order,” said the deputy commander general. of the Police, Fernando Tsucana, in statements collected by the Mozambican news agency.

The agent, who has described those people who finance these protests as “evil who only want to create general chaos”, has asked foreign citizens residing in the country to refrain from any intervention or participation that constitutes a violation of the law.

“There is a use of the right to demonstrate by moral authors to subvert the legally established order,” he stressed.

“Given the prevailing situation, the security forces will remain committed to guaranteeing public order, security and tranquility,” he also highlighted.

The president of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, has once again called for calm after the violent events recorded on Thursday in several cities in the country and has warned that if this continues they may enter a point of no return.

“We are going to stop the destruction, what we should have allowed to advance and did not do so will weigh on our conscience, because there are countries that are in a dead end because they have sunk into confusion and there is only death, destruction and looting “, said.

The opposition Venancio Mondlane has been asking his followers for the last month to take to the streets to claim his victory in the October 9 elections, which the electoral authorities have given Daniel Chapo, of the Liberation Front of Mozambique (FRELIMO), who governs uninterruptedly since 1975.
