The Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office has filed a lawsuit this Thursday against five people who were detained in Turkish territory for their relationship with the terrorist attacks in a concert hall in Moscow in March 2024, attributed to the Islamic State, for which it has requested prison sentences. up to fifteen years in prison.
The accusation indicates that these five people were in contact with the material authors of those attacks at the Crocus City Hall, on the outskirts of the Russian capital, which left 145 dead and more than 550 injured.
Thus, the Turkish Prosecutor’s Office accuses these five people, of Tajik nationality, of belonging to a terrorist organization. In turn, it points out that for two years they sheltered one of the perpetrators in a “safe apartment” located in the district of Esenyurt, in Istanbul, reports the Turkish national agency, Anatolia.
The authorities have surprised some of those detained when they were trying to flee to Iran and Afghanistan. They are asking for prison sentences from seven and a half to fifteen years.
During the investigation they have also found telephone conversations that would demonstrate not only their relationship with these attacks, but with the planning of several more, such as the proposal to place a bomb in a shopping center in Moscow in exchange for a reward of 800,000 rubles (about 6,800 euros).
On March 22, a group of armed men shot into a crowd at the Crocus City Hall concert hall, on the outskirts of Moscow, and set the venue on fire, killing 145 people and injuring more than 550.
A total of twelve people were arrested in Moscow in connection with the case, including the four perpetrators: Saidakrami Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni, Mujamadsobir Faizov and Dalerdzhon Mirzoev.
