MADRID 30 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Russian Armed Forces suffered more than 1,500 casualties in the month of November – including deaths and injuries – according to a report from the United Kingdom Intelligence services that warns of Moscow’s efforts to try to attract new recruits with measures such as the cancellation of debts for those who enlist starting this December.
Russian President Vladimir Putin enacted a law at the end of November to forgive debts for those who signed a contract with the Armed Forces, with a maximum limit of 10 million rubles (about 92,000 euros). It adds to other measures with which, according to London, Moscow seeks to “have enough replacements” to cover a volume of casualties that “increases rapidly.”
British Intelligence indicates that there are already more than 760,000 Russian soldiers who have died or been injured, with an average casualty of 1,523 during the month of November, according to the report released by the Ministry of Defense. The United Kingdom thus considers valid the figures offered by Ukraine, which had already reported more than 760,000 casualties.
With this type of “incentives”, the Russian authorities would seek to avoid new partial mobilizations, since these calls undermine the image of the Government and can encourage “large-scale” emigration. However, the British services also warn that they will “probably increase financial pressure” for a banking sector that already lives under the yoke of sanctions and rising interest rates.
