The US confirms the detection of more drones near its military bases in the United Kingdom

LONDON Nov 26 (DPA/EP) –

The United States Air Force has reported the detection of several drones near military bases on British soil, days after warning of another similar incident in the United Kingdom and without the North American authorities having pointed out possible perpetrators.

The latest sightings are from Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell bases and took place on Monday night. These incidents “have not been perceived as hostile,” according to a statement from the US Air Force in Europe, which has nevertheless insisted on constant surveillance of all facilities.

Over the weekend, North American authorities also confirmed the overflight of several unmanned aircraft in the vicinity of several bases. The sightings began on November 20, as the Air Force stated in the first statement.

Last Friday, the British Police also detonated a suspicious object in the vicinity of the United States Embassy in London, as part of a large operation that led to the closure of the entire area and which turned out to be a false alert.
