At least thirteen soldiers are missing after several explosions occurred in a weapons and ammunition warehouse in the Cuban municipality of Rafael Freyre, located in the province of Holguín.
The Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces has identified the affected people through a statement published on its profile on the social network Facebook, in which they specified that two commanders are missing, as well as two second non-commissioned officers and nine soldiers.
“His relatives were duly informed, the party, the Government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces pay all possible attention to this situation and continue the investigation actions at the scene of the events,” the text reads.
Hours earlier, he had indicated that he is analyzing the situation and that he has taken measures to “protect” 361 people who reside near the affected place. In addition, he had indicated that they are evaluating the status of personnel and assets, without mentioning the causes of the event.
