MADRID 9 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Russian Armed Forces have barely made “minor progress” in recent weeks in their attempt to contain the incursion of Ukrainian troops into the Russian region of Kursk, despite having the support of soldiers sent by North Korea on this front. according to a report from the United Kingdom Intelligence services.
The Ukrainian Army stormed Kursk at the beginning of August and has recently focused its work on “defending” the territories gained, in the face of “persistent attacks by Russian and North Korean forces.” Despite the “high” number of casualties suffered by Russia, the positions would have hardly changed.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have tried in recent days to gain some ground, with an offensive that began on January 5 and which, according to London, consists for now of “a limited counterattack,” says the report released by the British Ministry of Defense.
On the other hand, in the eastern part of Ukraine, Russia continues to focus its attacks on the Donetsk region, where it has already managed to take control of “a large part” of the town of Kurákhove, almost two months after the start of the assault on this strategic area. The main objective in this area would be Pokrovsk and, according to British authorities, Russian forces are already four kilometers south of the city.
