Venezuela condemns “hostilities” against Syria and demands the end of “Western and Israeli support”

MADRID 1 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government of Venezuela has this Saturday condemned “absolutely all hostilities against the people of Syria” and has demanded the “immediate cessation of support from the great Western powers and the Netanyahu regime”, whom it accuses of causing instability in the Middle East region.

“The Government urges the international community to condemn the continued use of terrorism against Syria and its people, demanding the immediate cessation of the support provided by the great Western powers and the Netanyahu regime, who continue to try to destabilize the entire region” , reads a statement released by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yván Gil.

The Venezuelan Executive has also added that it will support “the implementation of the necessary actions to restore peace and tranquility throughout the (Syrian) territory”, some of which “have been undertaken by the Syrian Army and will guarantee the sovereignty and independence of this brother country.

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has had a phone call with the Syrian Foreign Minister, Bassam al Sabbagh, to whom they expressed “Maduro’s embrace of solidarity towards the people and the Government of Bashar al Assad.”

The Syrian Army announced this Saturday the beginning of preparations to reinforce the defenses in the north of the province of Hama, the place that the coalition of jihadists and groups opposed to the Syrian Government have marked as a new objective of their lightning advance through the northwest of the country, which began in the middle of this week and has led them to take control of a good part of Aleppo, the second most important city in the country.

For his part, Assad assured this Saturday that his forces will defeat “all terrorists and their supporters” amid the advance of the coalition formed by the jihadist group Hayat Tahrir al Sham (HTS) and opposition groups in the northwest of the country. .
