The PUD assures that it is the “largest fraud perpetrated in Venezuela against the will of the Venezuelan people” and calls for resistance

MADRID, 10 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The main opposition coalition in Venezuela, the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), has accused President Nicolás Maduro of carrying out a coup d’état after taking office this Friday and beginning his third term after the presidential elections on July 28. contested by the opposition.

“With the usurpation of power by Nicolás Maduro of the Presidency of the Republic, supported by brute force and ignoring the popular sovereignty forcefully expressed on July 28, a coup d’état has been consummated against the rights of the people Venezuelan,” he indicated in a statement.

The PUD has assured that it is the “largest fraud perpetrated in Venezuela against the will of the Venezuelan people” at the hands of an “enriched and sectarian leadership” that has decided to “advance the lie of electoral results” that “never” have been published by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

“Edmundo González Urrutia is the one who must be sworn in as legitimate president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, today or tomorrow, because this is what the majority of Venezuelans decided, who know that only change is a guarantee of the prosperous country to which everyone will want to return.” , he added.

For all these reasons, the PUD has stated that on this day they begin “a new stage” in the fight “for the freedom of Venezuela throughout the national territory and in all sectors” that make up the Latin American country. “We must make a permanent and active conduct of democratic resistance felt,” he said.

For his part, Juan Guaidó – who in 2019 proclaimed himself ‘interim president’, asserting his leadership of the National Assembly – has stressed that the president of the country is Edmundo González, winner of the last elections in the country.

“Maduro only confirms his usurpation and the coup d’état that they carried out on July 28. The strength they intend to demonstrate today is relative. The people of Venezuela spoke: there will be justice,” the opponent highlighted in a message published on the social network X.
