MADRID 29 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Voting centers in Ireland opened their doors this Friday at 7:00 a.m. (local time) to elect the new Dáil, the Lower House of the Irish Parliament, after the Prime Minister, Simon Harris, of the Fine Gael party, announced early elections months before the scheduled date.
More than 3.6 million people are called to the polls to vote for the 174 members that make up this body, 14 more than in the previous legislature, in 43 constituencies. A total of 686 candidates, including 246 women, are vying for a seat in the 34th Dáil.
The counting of votes will take place at 32 counting centers and will begin once the polling stations close at 10:00 p.m. (local time).
