The mum of the late Antwain Fowler – famous for his catchphrase ‘where we bout to eat at?’ – plans to open a restaurant in his honour.
Fowler became an online sensation a couple of years back when his mum posted a video of him sitting in a car, in which he asked: “Where we bout to eat at?”
The short clip went viral and was viewed more than 24 million times, but Antwain tragically passed away last weekend, aged six.
He was diagnosed with autoimmune enteropathy as a toddler, which is a condition that prevents the body from absorbing nutrition.
His mum Christina Burns had been documenting his health battles on social media prior to his death on Sunday (21 November).
Speaking to TMZ, Christina said a GoFundMe set up in March during one of his many stays in hospital has now raised more than $74,000 (£55,000) – with more than $22,000 (£16,000) in donations coming in since the news of his death – and she hopes to use the money to set up a restaurant in his honour.
Naturally, the restaurant will be named ‘Where We Bout To Eat At’, and the money raised since his death will be used to kickstart the eatery.
She will help create the menu – which will feature a number of Antwain’s other catchphrases – but said she will need help with other aspects of the business.
Antwain’s GoFundMe states that he underwent more than 25 surgeries and was hospitalised a ‘countless number of times due to his poor health condition’.
He recently underwent a procedure called intravenous immune globulin, which was done to help the boy gain some muscle.
His family were hoping this would be able to get him on the right track to recovery.
In a post on Instagram earlier this week, Christina wrote: “I tried hiding you from the world early on but couldn’t you were meant to be seen.
“My precious babyyyyy, my god I just cannot believe it this is unbelievable man I’m tryin soooooo hard so so hard but I can’t dodge the feeling…
“God you really did a number on me I didn’t deserve to be left empty like this. A huge hole in my heart.
“The strength I had left with you baby. Still haven’t grasped the fact that you actually left me Baby. Come back I need you.”
