The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, denounced this Friday a “massive and combined attack” by Russia against the city of Odessa (south) and added that the event has resulted in at least one death and material damage in the port, a church and an educational center, among other points in the town.

“Odessa suffered a massive and combined attack last night involving missiles and drones,” he said on his account on the social network X, where he specified that “residential buildings, a heating center, an educational institution and a church were damaged.” “. “The port area was also hit,” he stressed.

“Unfortunately, one person died as a result of this terror and ten others were injured, including two children,” he noted, before stressing that “Russia does not stop attacking Ukraine, terrorizing regions, peaceful cities and communities.”

Thus, it has denounced attacks during the last day against the provinces of Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporiyia, Mikolaiv, Kharkov, Lugansk, Khershon, Sumi and Chernigov. “We constantly defend ourselves against these Russian attacks and we constantly need effective protection against this terrorism,” he has argued.

“We continue to repeat that Ukraine needs more air defense systems, capabilities to destroy means of terrorism in enemy territory, defensive packages and an increase in the pressure of sanctions against Russia,” Zelensky conveyed to kyiv’s allies within the framework of the war, unleashed by the invasion order given by the Kremlin in February 2022.
