MADRID 10 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, received this Thursday at the Chigi Palace the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelensky, who thanked Italy for the “firm support” of the air defense of Ukraine in the framework of the Russian invasion, which began on the 24th. February 2022 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“During my meeting with Meloni in Italy, we discussed crucial support to protect our people, cities and towns from Russian attacks, such as the recent horrific attack on Zaporizhzhia,” Zelensky said through his profile on the social network , in reference to the bombing that left at least thirteen dead the day before.

The Ukrainian head of state noted that during the meeting they focused on strengthening the air shield, collaborating with their partners “to bring peace closer and working together on reconstruction efforts that will benefit both nations, creating jobs, boosting our economies and promoting social development”.
